Research direction

  • We investigate specific interaction between laser beams and atoms which generate processes of coherent population trapping (CPT) and similar linked phenomena such are electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT), elektromagnetically induced absorption (EIA) and non-linear magneto-optical polarization rotation of light in Rb and K vapors. Experiments are performed on vapors on room temperature and on cold atoms. Theoretically, we develop models which completely describe interactions in the experiments.

Research direction

  • We investigate non-linear phenomena in photorefractive crystals like LiNbO3. By the means of laser beams the refractive index in non-linear materials is spatially modulated and the propagation of non-diffracting beams through such materials are theoretically and experimentally investigated.
