Research direction

  • Research areas of the Laboratory are experimental physics of gaseous discharges and of plasma, atomic and molecular emission spectroscopy, microwave-induced plasma, physics, technics and technology of lasers (our first CO2 laser made in 1970; CO laser; HF laser), laser interaction with surfaces, atmospheric polution monitoring (LIDAR 1981), laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS), pulsed laser deposition and creation of nano-composites. The Laboratory is world-known by its research in Stark broadening of spectral lines in plasma.
